The month of February brings a sense of romance and lofty ideals of how to express your love. Grocery store aisles lined with heart-shaped everything, beautifully wrapped packages of candy, troves of roses beckoning to be purchased for your lover. It’s quite sensational, isn’t it?
Although being showered with gifts can be a divine experience, there is something better. Something so extraordinary that it turns everyday moments of your life into pure magic. Some years ago, my sister walked in to find me laughing and singing to myself. She later said, “You really are your own best friend, aren’t you?”
Her words stuck with me as I came to realize the uncommon bond, I had created with myself. Later, in my life-coaching business, I started seeing the disconnect many of us are living in. We were led to think that putting our needs first is a selfish act. Today, you might feel guilt around self-indulgence and pleasure. Here is your invitation to rewrite those old beliefs.
When we tend to our needs, we fill our cups. When we say yes to our soul’s desires, we elevate into a state of overflow. From that point, we have plenty to give. We can easily pour energy into others, and when we do it from this place of abundance, it feeds us even more. As I led others on the path of self-discovery, a beautiful idea came forth. A love letter to oneself.

I highly suggest you read this aloud to yourself daily, at least for the month of February. You will feed your subconscious mind, and by doing so, you’ll notice positive changes in yourself and thus in your life. These prompts will get your imagination and self-love flowing. Keep it going!
